Just like you, we at Shop4ties have been trying to figure out what we can do to help in this significant, unprecedented moment. So we got together with some of our fellow Chicago businesses and came to a realization: If we all do what we are good at, we can make a difference and make it through this together. 

Like many other companies, we are navigating the new world of a fully-remote, work-from-home team. Our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, customers, and community made that transition a straightforward decision. But it does come with its challenges.

At Shop4ties we’ve recently added a new customized apparel option to our line up of custom ties, scarves, and Hawaiian shirts - our new custom performance shirts. These performance shirts, also sometimes called dry fits or athletic shirts, are so comfortable they have us wondering if we can wear them all the time.

As a family-owned company in the customized apparel world, we are also always on the lookout for ways to enhance our business and design skills and create a better customer experience. For those reasons, the boom in upskilling tools and software is very much on our radar.

And if you are looking for a way to send off your university’s graduates in style, customized apparel they can wear in the “real world” is a great option. 

Carolyn Hardy has been shining her Union County High School spirit for 17 years. We worked with her to create custom Hawaiian shirts after Coach Brian Thompson originally reached out to us. Coach has been battling stage four colon cancer and wanted to use the shirts to remind everyone to remain positive no matter what the circumstances you face. They sent us this touching story about their custom shirts: Coach Thompson was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2014 and came to us in 2018. Through all of his treatments he has led our football team to be the region champs for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. It was Coach Thompson who contacted Shop4Ties to design a Hawaiian Tiki shirt for our staff to encourage everyone to be positive no matter the circumstances we face. Below is a message Coach Thompson sent out to our faculty earlier in the year to explain his Hawaiian take on life.

I am finally on my last leg of the 20-hour journey that started when we left Shanghai at 9:00 AM on October 20th.  The coolest part about traveling home from China is that I’ll get to live the same day twice on two different continents.  For the past ten days, my mom, who is also my business partner, and I have spent countless hours on planes, trains, and automobiles so that we could gain a whole new appreciation for how our products are made and the people behind the magic.

Recently we worked with Jill Mercurio, Public Works Director for the City of San Pablo, to create custom Hawaiian shirts in honor of their award-winning team. She sent us such a lovely note about enjoying the shirts that we wanted to know more!  Jill graciously took the time to tell us more about their city:
