Our continuous efforts to share our core values with others.

Play for Blake Foundation donation

On June 14th 2023, tragedy struck Becky’s family when her cousins, Amy & Darren, lost their 13-year-old son, Blake, in a devastating bike accident. The mere thought of what Blake’s family, friends, and community were enduring was overwhelmingly heartbreaking. However out of tragedy emerged something beautiful.

Amy & Darren decided to honor Blake’s memory by establishing The Play For Blake Foundation. Their goal is simple yet profound: to offer underprivileged children the resources and opportunities to engage in the sport that Blake loved most—soccer.

In support of The Play For Blake Foundation, Candor Threads has donated Play for Blake soccer scarves. You can join this cause and make a meaningful contribution by purchasing these scarves or any of the PFB merchandise. Your support will directly benefit underprivileged children, allowing them to access the world of soccer and all its life-enriching opportunities.

Restoring Hope After the 2023 Maui Fires

After the devastating August 2023 Maui fires, communities were left grappling with the destruction and loss that the natural disaster had brought upon their lives. Among the countless stories of resilience and hope, one in particular stood out. We received an email from Miguel Solice, the head of Maui Preparatory Academy. He had a simple request – custom Hawaiian shirts for his school’s teachers and staff to lift their spirits after the chaos and sadness of the Lahaina fires. Without a second thought, we knew we had to help. The next day, we contacted Miguel to let him know we’d be happy to donate the shirts. His response was overwhelming: “Wow! I cannot state how wonderful this is for our school. We will all love them so much. I’m sending a great deal of love and Aloha from my school to yours.” Miguel was ecstatic, and so were we!

Supporting TeamBecka and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

On May 8, 2017, Becka Lindquist, a girl of only 13 years of age, committed suicide. Becka was a shining beacon of light, an amazing friend, a little sister, singer, cheerleader, softball player and was always making plans about going to college. Unknown to everyone around her, she was silently battling depression. In honor of Becka, her family participates with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention by annually walking in the Out of the Darkness Walk in their community

This event not only commemorates Becka’s spirit but also raises awareness and funds for the crucial research needed in the realm of suicide prevention.  In honor of Becka, we donated to her AFSP team, and hosted a preorder for Hawaiian shirts for her team to wear.

Fidget Mats for People with Dementia and Alzheimers

Wayne and Gail Hartlich were in need of neckties for the handmade fidget mats they make for/donate to people with dementia. Needless to say, we were more than happy to provide some of our overruns! We love what they’re doing and we’re so pleased to see these ties rejuvenated in such a positive way! The photo to your left was sent to us from Wayne and Gail after they made a fidget mat using donated ties from Candor Threads.
