CANDOR THREADS CARES

Our continuous efforts to share our core values with others.

UPDATE – Candor Threads is 40 Years Old!!!

Candor Threads committed to donating $40 to Twist Out Cancer, DECA inc., or Future Founders for every order placed during the month of December! We’re happy to announce that we raised $742.50 for each of these three organizations! Making sales in December was all the more fun, knowing we were playing a part in the betterment of entreprenuers, young minds, and cancer survivors.

Fidget Mats for People with Dementia and Alzheimers

Wayne and Gail Hartlich were in need of neckties for the handmade fidget mats they make for/donate to people with dementia. Needless to say, we were more than happy to provide some of our overruns! We love what they’re doing and we’re so pleased to see these ties rejuvenated in such a positive way! The photo to your left was sent to us from Wayne and Gail after they made a fidget mat using donated ties from Candor Threads.

We Were a Part of the Light in 2022!

December 10th marked the 5th year for My Block, My Hood, My City’s Be a Part of the Light initiative. Candor Threads was thrilled to join other Chicagoans on King Drive to decorate homes with holiday cheer! This event brightens the neighborhood, inspires hope for kids, and brings the community together.

Hawaiian Shirts for Deployed Soldiers Donation

We recently donated 106 custom shirts to Hawaiian Shirts for Deployed Soldiers! Gwen Pollard started her mission in 2017, and over the years, has been donating Hawaiian shirts to deployed soldiers around the world to help cut the tension and spread some cheer. We are so happy we could make a donation, and hope our U.S. soldiers will enjoy them while away from home.

Volunteering at Bernie’s Book Bank

As part of our Pledge 1% commitment, we chose to donate our time at Bernie’s Book Bank in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Bernie’s is a non-profit organization that sources, processes, and distributes quality books to under-served kids in the Chicagoland area. Bernie’s has distributed over 22 million books since they started in 2009 and we were thrilled to play a small role in their progress!
