Sea Air Space 2023

Bringing the Aloha Spirit to SAS ’23

Candor Threads had the opportunity to be part of a truly unforgettable experience at the 2023 Sea Air Space show. It was a year of breaking norms and injecting a splash of color into an event dominated by navy suits. Our custom Hawaiian shirts took center stage, sparking captivating conversations and leaving a remarkable impression.

The Sea Air Space show is a Navy-League-hosted exposition featuring defense industry leaders and major military decision makers from around the globe.  It’s a place where innovation meets tradition, and industry leaders gather to discuss the latest advancements in defense technology. SAS is renowned for its serious and professional atmosphere, with attendees typically dressed in business attire. Our decision to showcase our custom Hawaiian shirts and other apparel items was a bold one, but it paid off in ways we couldn’t have imagined.

It didn’t take long for attendees to take notice and gravitate towards our booth. We were kept busy, to say the least! It also didn’t hurt that we had some seriously fun pineapple print apparel giveaways, including bow ties, socks, scrunchies, and pocket squares.

But it wasn’t just about visual appeal or swag; it was about the connections we made. We met so many amazing people, heard their stories, learned about their businesses, and gained invaluable insights into this industry we often work with. We even had the pleasure of meeting individuals whose companies had previously collaborated with Candor Threads on their group’s custom Hawaiian shirts and ties. It was heartening to see our work out in the world, a testament to the creativity and quality that define Candor Threads.

One of the most memorable moments of our time there was the impromptu bow tie tying lesson that we received from attendees. Let me just mention, we quickly realized that no one on our all-women’s team actually knew how to tie a bow tie! As attendees passed by, we invited them to join in and learn the art of tying a bow tie. It was a delightful and interactive experience that added a touch of playfulness to the conference.

The 2023 Sea Air Space show was more than just a conference for us; it was an adventure. We met incredible people, forged meaningful connections, and hopefully left a lasting impression on everyone who visited our exhibit. It was a testament to our commitment to celebrating all things that bring people together and connecting groups through custom apparel.

Looking ahead, we can’t wait to return to the Sea Air Space conference in 2024. We’re excited to make more meaningful connections, learn from our customers, and bring our Aloha spirit once again.
