West Suburban Shrine Club, The Chairmen of Fez-tivities

The Roaring 57s since 1951

Recognize those red fezes?  Our local Chicagoland club is renowned for its philanthropy and zest for life: the West Suburban Shriners. This group is also known affectionately as the Roaring ’57s (in honor of their miniature 1957 Chevies) has been a symbol of goodwill and community spirit ever since their founding in 1951. These Shriners strive to make a positive impact on their communities with a twist of fun!

The West Suburban Shrine Club, part of the Medinah Shriners, is on a mission to spread joy and support by fundraising for the local Shriners Children Hospital. A deep sense of community involvement through volunteerism and outreach efforts is central to the values of the Shriners brotherhood.  One of their most visible activities is that the Shriners ride in their miniature cars local parades from the St. Patrick’s Day festivities in March to the Frosty and Friends Parade in December.  The presence of the Shriners in tiny cars wearing their distinctive maroon fez hats can’t help but make you smile!I wo

How The Shriners Bring Smiles to Others

The West Suburban Shriners are always coming up with new ways to raise funds and spread goodwill. Share nights, pumpkin sales, and Vidalia onion sales are just a few of their fun offerings. Annual pilgrimages to Shrines within the Great Lakes region, where they join fellow Shriners in friendly competition and fellowship, strengthen bonds between local clubs. In the 2023 holiday season, the West Suburban Shrine Club hosted the inaugural Feztival of Trees, a heartwarming display of cheer and generosity. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals came together to decorate trees and donate gifts, all in the spirit of giving back to those in need.

The members of the West Suburban Shrine Club always enjoy the opportunity to spread the spirit of family, fun, and fellowship far and wide. If you see them on parade, remember to give them a big wave “hello!” — chances are it will be appreciated, and you might get invited to the next Shriner’s dinner!
