A special request for #GivingTuesday

We find that the holidays are an inspiring time to give back to our communities.  So on Giving Tuesday 11/28, we are asking you to join us in sponsoring Twist Out Cancer, an incredible non-profit that provides community and support through the arts to those affected by cancer.

My father and Shop4ties’s founder Arnie Kapp was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2011. A healthy man who had the most incredible zest for life, it caught us all off guard.  Jenna Shersher, founder of Twist Out Cancer, was a friend of mine from high school who I reconnected with shortly after Arnie had been diagnosed and Jenna was in remission from her own bout with cancer. Arnie’s journey was quite hard and even though our family was extremely supportive, it took a toll on everyone. Jenna was always willing and open to have conversations and help comfort us during this time.

Becky and Arnie

As I took over Shop4ties after Arnie’s passing, Jenna and I began to connect on a more regular basis.  I wanted to find more ways in which to give back. Twist Out Cancer does such amazing work to find alternative ways to express so many individual cancer journeys. I am so honored to join their board and to help Twist out Cancer make even a larger impact on those affected by cancer. I know Arnie’s spirit is with me as we push for TOC’s continued success!

This year, we have an incredible opportunity to further our impact. The Coleman Foundation has generously provided us with a $10,000 matching grant that will double all donations made on Giving Tuesday. Our hope is to raise $20,000 in 24 hours!  Please consider donating on #GivingTuesday 11/28 when we have all the opportunity to match and even exceed our fundraising goals.

Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
