Non-Profit Partners: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital leads the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.  Their research efforts have helped increase childhood cancer survival rates from less than than 20% in 1962 to more than 80% today.  St. Jude’s serves over 7,000 families every year, who never receive a bill for their treatment costs.

We are honored to work with them for over ten years now to create ties and scarves for both their online and gift stores at the hospital.  From taking the children’s art to subtly branding ties and scarves, we have done it all. This money then goes in turn back to the organization and all the wonderful things that they do for children and families.  All the ties and scarves showcase the St. Jude’s logo of the child to allow the buyers to proudly show their support.

I was in Memphis last year and met Ramona Medearis, the new head of the purchasing department.  We sat down together after working with them for so many years. My father and Shop4ties founder Arnie worked with Maggie Bragg, a lovely woman who he had a wonderful relationship with for many, many years.  He supported her in her marathon running for St. Jude and their shared interest in gardening. I had the pleasure of sitting down with Maggie as well and talking about her, her family and the connection that she developed with Arnie over the years.
