Candor Threads is 40 Years Old!!!

Hawaiian Shirts for Deployed Soldiers Donation
We recently donated 106 custom shirts to Hawaiian Shirts for Deployed Soldiers! Gwen Pollard started her mission in 2017, and over the years, has been donating Hawaiian shirts to deployed soldiers around the world to help cut the tension and spread some cheer. We are so happy we could make a donation, and hope our U.S. soldiers will enjoy them while away from home.

Volunteering at Bernie’s Book Bank
As part of our Pledge 1% commitment, we chose to donate our time at Bernie’s Book Bank in Lake Bluff, Illinois. Bernie’s is a non-profit organization that sources, processes, and distributes quality books to under-served kids in the Chicagoland area. Bernie’s has distributed over 22 million books since they started in 2009 and we were thrilled to play a small role in their progress!

SPLC Donation
As a company, we believe in equality and justice for everyone. As such we denounce the Boogaloo movement and their adoption of Hawaiian shirts as a symbol, and we are committed to educating ourselves to avoid supporting their cause. As part of PLEDGE 1%, we donated 1% of all our Hawaiian shirt sales proceeds to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Our contribution helps support their mission to monitor hate groups and other extremists through the United States and expose their activities to the public, the media, and law enforcement.

Pledge 1%
Candor Threads has joined over 12,000 companies around the world who have committed to Pledge 1% of either their product, profit, equity, and/or staff time to a charity of their choosing. Each quarter, we choose a cause to support with either one percent of our profit, time, or product. Stay tuned to see our various campaigns to give back to our communities!

Buy One and we Give One:
For every Ready to Ship mask purchase, we donated a mask to a community in need. Previous donations include to the Chicago Parks District, the Cornerstone Community Outreach, YWCA Metropolitan Chicago, Chicago Methodist Senior Center, and more.
Until Justice Just Is:
We are proud to support YWCA Metropolitan Chicago and their work for racial justice.
Masks for Change:
We asked kids to create a mask for what anti-racism means to them. Three winners received 250 custom masks featuring their design to share with their classmates and teachers!
Feeding The Frontlines:
Supporting Chicago healthcare workers with awesome Windy City apparel!
We teamed up to deliver meals to healthcare and frontline workers from local Chicago businesses. Our nurses, doctors, aides, police, and firefighters do so much to help us all, so we are so proud to give back to them! We raised over $13,000 and sent out over 900 meals. Special thanks to Sweet Addiction Toffee who has also donated half-pounds of delicious toffee for us to send out as well!
